UV SunCare is an ultra violet (UV) tracking and alert application providing the user a digital interface that will assist them in preventing sun-related ailments. This application is for US consumers and uses raw data from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) and the National Weather Service’s (NWS) APIs. The app also provides a notification alarm to assist the users in maintaining appropriate sunscreen coverage as well as provide sun care related information. ScholarDev LLC has developed this app for the iPhone and Apple Watch platforms.The EPA and the NWS does not endorse or is affiliated with this app or its developing team. The iPhone app will have free and paid versions. The Apple Watch is included with the paid app.

How is the UltraViolet Index (UVI) calculated or where does it come from? 

  • The UVI is pulled from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Open API and modified as necessary. 

How are the Temperatures calculated? 

  • We do not calculate temperatures. They are taken from United State’s National Weather Services’ Open API.

What are UV SunCare’s limitations?

  • As of right now, UV SunCare is restricted to the United States territories only. 

Is UV SunCare accurate? 

  • UV SunCare is as accurate as it can be. However, we do not promise absolute accurateness and hold no liability relating to it. Please refer to our End User License Agreement (EULA) for further details.

When signing up to our UV SunCare newsletter, as necessary, you may be asked to enter your email address and any other voluntary details (such as Age, Gender, Income, and etc.) to help you with your experience.

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.

We only provide articles and information. We never ask for credit card numbers.

We use regular Malware Scanning.

We do not specifically market to or collect information on children under the age of 13 years old.
